Most kids who struggle in math don’t have a math problem. They have a confidence problem.

That’s where I come in.

Grade Turnarounds

His grades have improved significantly in Algebra. He began approaching math with a level of enthusiasm and independence we had never seen before.

He cares about my son’s growth and ability to learn more so than any tutor we have had. Joseph is patient, creative, thoughtful, and a perfect fit for my son. If you are looking for a tutor for your child, look no further.

I know what your kid is going through

Because I lived it. In middle school, I got my first C in math. By junior year, I was about to be dropped to a lower level.

Then one teacher changed everything. He showed me I didn’t need to be a “math person” — anyone can learn math with the right instruction.

My next test: a 100. From then on, straight A’s.

That experience is why I tutor the way I do. I don’t just help with tonight’s homework. I find the exact spot where your child got lost, and I rebuild from there. That’s when math starts to click.

I’m not a math genius — and your child doesn’t need to be one either. They just need someone to show them the path, like someone once did for me.

Here’s how I do it:

1

Fix the foundation

Most of the struggle traces back to gaps in earlier material. We find those and close them first, so the new stuff finally clicks.

2

Build confidence

Then we practice until your child can do it on their own, without second-guessing every step.

3

Ace the test

They walk into the next test knowing they’ve got it.

What does the first session look like?

The first lesson is free — no card, nothing to cancel. We spend it finding the gaps, and you’ll know by the end whether it’s a good fit. If it isn’t, that’s the end of it and you’ve paid nothing.

What grades and subjects do you cover?

I work with students in Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, and SAT Math prep — typically grades 7 through 12.

Where do sessions happen?

In person at your home or a local library if you’re in Rhode Island, or over Zoom from anywhere — whatever works best for your family.

We’re not in Rhode Island. Can you still work with my child?

Yes — those sessions run over Zoom. You get the same progress report after every session and the same access between them. I teach on Eastern time, so we’d find a slot that works for your evening.

How often should my child have sessions?

Most students meet once a week. If a big test is coming up, we can add sessions as needed.

How much does it cost?

Your first lesson is free. After that it’s $90 per hour — no contracts, no commitments, just pay as you go.

My kid has had tutors before and it didn’t help.

Most tutors re-explain what the teacher already said. I do something different — I find the exact gap in your child’s understanding and rebuild from there. That’s why the grades actually change. And since the first lesson is free, finding out costs you nothing.
